Topic: Fly Fishing in Alaska

Many first-time visitors to Alaska who want to spend time on the water fishing for endless trout, grayling, and salmon face the decision of which type of adventure they would like to take.

Over the years, Tom Herr has spent a lot of time there fly fishing for these species, experiencing these trips by doing it all on his own, fishing the road system, and spending time at all-inclusive lodges.

The presentation he will give will focus on the benefits and challenges of both choices for experiencing Alaska. The presentation will cover topics such as airline travel, lodging, transportation, fishing requirements and timing, and many others. He will finish the discussion with a video centered on a week-long trip he hosted to a lodge in Bristol Bay this past summer. At the end of the meeting, he will have a sign-up sheet for those who would like more information about fishing and traveling to Alaska.
