Hope everyone has been having a great summer. Yes it has been hot but has not kept us off the water. Be mindful that the warmer water temps cause's a lot of stress to trout, and the fight induced catch creates a build-up of lactic acid creating more stress. Proper catch and gentle release is critical to the health of trout.
This month our tier is Beaux Rohrbaugh. Beaux demonstrated the Black Nosed Dace back in January. Last April Beaux competed in the NCAA Bass Masters National Championship in Alabama..
Beaux currently attends Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, where he is finishing up a degree in Trout Fisheries Biology, Beaux is employed by Trout Unlimited where he has first-hand experience reclassing Pennsylvania water systems.
All of his flies are tied to match what nature provides in Pennsylvania creeks.

This month Beaux is presenting the Golden Stonefly.. This is a pattern Beaux swears by and has a special way he ties it. It should be a good night.
In doing some research of the Golden Stone I was not able to gather very much specific information. Nothing as to who tied the first fly, but the fly is believed to date back to the early 1900s. Please find attached a word file containing some of what I was able to locate to help educate you on what a Golden stone is and how to fish it. Beaux will provide more information regarding how he fishes the fly in Pennsylvania.
See you there.
